Group Evenings

The Table Is Set

A private table, a deck of cards, and a room that feels like it was built for one night only. Brass & Willow turns group dining into an offline poker ritual, where every dinner leads naturally to the card lounge.

The restaurant’s noir interior uses black, smoke, and hard white with a single blood-red accent. Offline poker is a real, in-person activity; chips are table props, not currency. Group evenings are tailored to the size and mood of your party.

The Noir Ritual

A Room Built for the Long Game

Brass & Willow is designed like a private card lounge: low light, leather booths, and the quiet click of chips on felt. Your group takes over a table, and the evening unfolds at its own pace. The card lounge is available for private group use, tables are set for Texas Hold’em-style social play, and no experience is required. The atmosphere is cinematic and unhurried.

The Social Format

We run group evenings as friendly, Texas Hold’em-style sessions. A host explains the flow, keeps the game moving, and makes sure everyone at the table feels welcome—whether they’ve played poker before or not. Expect a host-led introduction to the format, a casual pace with breaks for food and drinks, and no pressure to play; guests can watch and socialise.

Table 01

The Card Lounge

The card lounge is the heart of the group evening. It holds up to 24 guests at two long poker tables, with leather chairs, low lighting, and a dedicated host station. Two poker tables each seat up to 12, with private access for your group and easy drink service from the adjacent main bar.

Table 02

The Main Dining Room

For larger groups or a more traditional dinner-first evening, the main dining room can be arranged with long tables and a relaxed view of the open kitchen. Flexible seating suits groups of 10 to 40, and the room can be combined with card lounge access. Noir lighting and engraved textures run throughout.

Table 03

The Private Booth

For intimate groups of six to ten, a private booth near the back of the restaurant offers seclusion and a single poker table for a more focused evening. One poker table seats up to 10, making it ideal for birthdays or small team gatherings, with a dedicated server for the evening.

Food and Drink for the Table

Shared Plates, Slow Service

Group evenings are built around shared plates that arrive between hands. The kitchen sends out charcuterie, roasted vegetables, and slow-cooked meats designed to be eaten without leaving the table. The menu is designed for sharing, service is timed around the poker game, and dietary requirements can be accommodated.

Drinks That Keep the Night Moving

The bar pours dark spirits, Australian wines, and low-alcohol options. A dedicated server keeps glasses full without interrupting the flow of the game. Full bar service is available throughout the evening, non-alcoholic options include house-made sodas and teas, and drinks can be pre-ordered for the group.

How the Evening Unfolds

Three Hands, One Night

  1. Arrival and First Drinks

Guests arrive to a set table, a cold drink, and a short introduction from the host. The rules of the evening are explained, and the first hand is dealt within 30 minutes. A welcome drink is included, the host explains the Texas Hold’em-style format, and no experience is required.

  2. Dinner Between Hands

Food arrives in waves, timed to the game. Guests eat, drink, and play at their own pace. The host keeps the game moving and answers questions. Shared plates are served throughout, with breaks for conversation and refills, and the game continues for two to three hours.

  3. The Final Hand and Farewell

The evening ends with a final hand, a last drink, and a quiet farewell. No prizes, no pressure—just the memory of a good table and good company. There is no betting or prizes, guests leave at their own pace, and the booking includes the full evening.

Poker for Every Level

No Experience Required

Most group evenings include guests who have never played poker before. The host explains the Texas Hold’em-style format in plain language, and the first few hands are played slowly so everyone can follow. A host-led tutorial starts the evening, cheat sheets are available at each seat, and guests can watch before joining.

“If your group already knows the game, the host steps back and lets the table run itself. The focus stays on the social side of poker, not on competition.”
